The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has introduced a fully digital system for driving licence services, allowing applicants to complete licence applications, renewals and revenue payments online starting today.
Under the new system, citizens can use their National Identity Card or scan the QR code available in the Nagarik App to automatically populate their personal details in the online application form.
The auto-fill feature is expected to reduce manual data entry errors while making the application process significantly faster and more convenient.
The move is aimed at reducing the need for applicants to visit transport offices or banks simply to submit forms or pay fees. However, during the initial phase, applicants may still be required to visit the concerned office for the mandatory medical examination.
The department said it plans to integrate digital submission of medical reports into the system in the future. To access the online service, applicants must use the dedicated portal assigned to their respective province:
Koshi Province: edlvrs.koshi.gov.np
Madhesh Province: edlvrs.madhesh.gov.np
Bagmati Province: edlvrs.bagamati.gov.np
Gandaki Province: edlvrs.gandaki.gov.np
Lumbini Province: edlvrs.lumbini.gov.np
Karnali Province: edlvrs.karnali.gov.np
Sudurpashchim Province: edlvrs.sudurpashchim.gov.np
Applicants who do not possess a National Identity Card or do not use the Nagarik App can continue to apply through the existing process by manually entering their personal information.
The Department has also established dedicated support channels to handle technical issues and public grievances related to the new online platform.
Users experiencing difficulties can contact the DoTM through its official grievance email, [email protected], or reach the designated support officers and provincial contact points for assistance.
The digital transition is part of the government's broader effort to modernize public services by improving accessibility, reducing paperwork and streamlining the driving licence application process across Nepal.
